Stock-markets in Europe and the UK have had a muted open this morning with investors waiting for the latest inflation data.

Muted open for stocks ahead of Euro inflation data

Stock-markets in Europe and the UK have had a muted open this morning with investors waiting for the latest inflation data from France, Germany and Italy due later today. Weekly jobless claims and retail sales data in the US will also be closely monitored for clues regarding economic recovery.

Today is also a big day for first quarter earnings with major US companies reporting including, Bank of America, Pepsi, Citigroup and BlackRock.
