UK stocks open flat after Chinese trade data

All eyes are on the US jobs data released later today. The numbers will provide a clues regarding economic recovery and inflation.

UK stocks open flat after Chinese trade data

A lacklustre open for UK and European stocks after weaker-than-expected Chinese trade data for May and German data showing factory orders fell unexpectedly by 0.2% for April.

The main focus once again this week will be US data which may give investors clues regarding the future path of inflation and the possible response from the Fed. May’s CPI (Consumer Price Index) data is due on Thursday.

Stocks rallied on Friday following US jobs data trhat showed 559,000 jobs added in May, far fewer than expected and easing concerns that the economy is over-heating.
